ProCards minor league card!

Pedro Martinez's journey to the major leagues took a relatively short amount of time compared to some other players. He made his debut in Major League Baseball (MLB) just a few years after signing his first professional contract. Martinez signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1988 at the age of 17. He spent a few seasons in the Dodgers' minor league affiliates, gradually working his way up through the ranks. On September 24, 1992, Martinez made his major league debut. He appeared in two games as a reliever in his first season, providing a glimpse of his potential. In November 1993, Martinez was traded to the Montreal Expos, and he had his breakthrough season in 1994. He emerged as one of the most dominant pitchers in the league, earning his first All-Star selection and finishing the season with a 3.42 ERA and 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings. Martinez continued to excel, solidifying his reputation as one of the premier pitchers in baseball. He consistently showcased exceptional command, overpowering stuff, and a fierce competitive spirit.
