Philadelphia ROOKIE CARD for the greatest of all linebackers!!!

You can begin to understand the player that Dick Butkus was through a story that showcases his toughness and dedication to the game of football. It took place during his college years at the University of Illinois. In 1963, during a game against the University of Michigan, Butkus suffered a severe knee injury that was initially deemed career-ending. The injury was so significant that it required surgery, and many doubted whether he’d be able to return to football. Yet he was determined to overcome the odds and make a comeback. After the surgery, he went through a grueling rehabilitation process that included countless hours of physical therapy and intense training. He worked tirelessly to regain his strength and mobility, refusing to let the injury define his career. Just eight months later and against all expectations, Dick Butkus made a triumphant return to the football field. Not only that, but he continued to excel, earning All-American honors for two consecutive years and establishing himself as one of the most feared defensive players in the nation.
